ANDREW MBUGUA, CPA

Andrew is a global development professional with over 15 years of experience in capacity assessments, due diligence, audits, procurement reviews, fiduciary risk assessments, organizational development / institutional strengthening support, grant management and public financial management. Andrew has a Masters of Business and Administration, Bachelors of arts degree with a double major in Economics and Sociology and is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. Andrew has led capacity strengthening initiatives across a diverse range of organizations, including youth-led organizations, faith-based institutions, universities, and government bodies. Andrew was the lead engagement manager for a non-financial support engagement, which involved conducting capacity assessments of 28 Faith based Partner Organizations and co-creation of capacity development action plans with the Partners. He was the lead engagement manager for the non-financial support phase 2 engagement, which involved delivering capacity development support to the partner organizations. Andrew has experience in delivering various audit and advisory consultancy assignments for various donors including UNFPA, UNDP, DFID, Sida, Danida, SDC, UNDP, the Global Fund, UN-Habitat, UNOCHA, Mastercard Foundation, the Royal Norwegian Embassy, the European Union, the Laureus World Sports Awards among others.

GRACE MWIHIA, CPA

Grace is an experienced finance professional and CPA, whose expertise is anchored in three core disciplines: financial management and controls, global audit and compliance, and financial capacity building. She has good knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). Grace holds a degree in Bachelor or Economics and Statistics from the Kenyatta University. A proven leader in financial management, Grace is experienced in directing all aspects of global finance functions, including month-end close, multi-country budgeting, and the production of consolidated financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS. This is complemented by deep audit expertise, having spearheaded global consolidated audits and managed statutory compliance across diverse regulatory landscapes, including stringent donor requirements for USAID and FCDO. She previously worked with a Tier 1 audit firm where she obtained rich and varied experience in public sector audits. She has undertaken audits of organizations and projects in the public sector, funded by The World Bank, European Union (EU), UNICEF, DANIDA, SIDA, USAID, The Wellcome Trust among others. A key differentiator is a specialized focus on capacity building. Grace is adept at designing and delivering comprehensive financial training programs that empower nonfinance personnel to achieve financial fluency. This unique ability to translate complex audit and financial concepts into actionable business / operational intelligence has been consistently applied to build cultures of financial accountability, optimize resource allocation, and drive measurable improvements in forecast accuracy across international teams. Grace’s country experience spans Kenya, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Djibouti, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda and Morocco.
